Granite is a natural stone material that is hard and durable and made up of quartz and potassium feldspar, and other trace minerals that are present in the molten stone. The minerals and their variation in abundance and alteration give granite the numerous different colors and textures that we see in beautiful granite countertops.
Quartzite is a non-foliated metamorphic rock composed almost entirely of quartz. The interlocking crystalline structure of quartzite makes it a hard, tough, durable stone.
